THE WAR AND TREATY RELEASE BOISTEROUS NEW SONG “LOVER’S GAME” TODAY

Title Track Transcends the Sonic Landscape for Forthcoming Album, Produced by Dave Cobb

American Music Association’s “Duo of the Year” Share Rafter-Shaking Performance of “Lover’s Game” Here

Trailblazing husband-and-wife duo The War And Treaty make their UMG/Mercury Nashville single debut today with the release of the euphoric song, “Lover’s Game.” The soul-soaked track co-written by the pair with Dave Cobb is presented as a playful rock-n-roller full of starry-eyed flirtation as the couple compare romantic battle scars and decide they still believe in the cause. Serving as the title track for their forthcoming album produced by Cobb, “Lover’s Game” embraces that genre-less vocal dynamism the duo has long employed while showcasing love’s ability to rejuvenate and is now available at radio and all digital retailers HERE.

“This song came together so quickly when we were in the studio with Dave and it really kicked off the sentiment behind the album,” Michael said. “We had this ‘aha’ moment about falling in love over food and drinks and as three foodies it was easy to think… ‘Margarita, hot chicken, strawberry wine…looking for your lovin’ to be mine all mine!’ We can’t wait for the chance to turn on the radio and hear this song screaming through the airwaves.”

Wielding a sound which cuts through the whole of Southern music tradition – from blues, soul and R&B, to gospel, country, folk and rock, Michael Trotter Jr. and Tanya Trotter now reach the next creative level as their story plays out amid a transcendent sonic landscape. Their name alone conjures images of struggle, epic conflict, sacrifice, and the eventual birth of a lasting peace. For this “colossally talented pair” (Associated Press), that struggle is found within love itself and it forms the heart of a landmark album for their first major-label release. Revealing and bold, it offers unique perspective on shifting cultural tides and the impact of a global pandemic. Prior to the release of “Lover’s Game,” The War And Treaty began pushing their lyrical envelope through “That’s How Love Is Made” as the project’s “sultry, intimate, urgent piano ballad” (Billboard) is “destined to send a chill down a listener’s spine” (CMT).

As a powerhouse vocal duo internationally renowned and long appreciated for live shows built on revival-like intensity, the AMA “Duo/Group of the Year” brings “Lover’s Game” to life with a rafter-shaking performance of their new single HERE.

Founded in 2014 by the husband-and-wife duo Michael Trotter Jr. and Tanya Trotter, The War And Treaty have emerged as one of the most electrifying new acts in American music. With a lionhearted sonic blend – both roaring with passion and tender to the touch – the showcase “pure love that shatters and defies every musical category,” (Music Row). Earning respect, they’ve gone on to appear as top-flight collaborators, and have been recognized by the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Grand Ole Opry and the Americana Music Association as “2022 Duo/Group of the Year.” The duo have dominated stages across the globe including North America, Europe, Italy, Australia, and Ireland, while headlining their own shows and opening for a diverse group of living legends; Al Green, Brandi Carlile, Jason Isbell, John Legend, Lauren Daigle and Van Morrison among them.
