New Single “Girl Crush” Impacts Radio Dec. 15
CMA Vocal Group of the Year and the newest members of the Grand Ole Opry Little Big Town lands at No. 1 on this week’s MediaBase country chart with “Day Drinking,” the lead single off the group’s critically acclaimed sixth studio album, PAIN KILLER, released on Capitol Records Nashville. This single marks the first No. 1 as writers for Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild, Phillip Sweet and Jimi Westbrook – also written with Barry Dean and Troy Verges. Additionally, the chart-topping tune makes the band’s fifth RIAA Gold-certified single with sales surpassing 500,000.
“This feeling will never get old,” exclaimed Westbrook. “Thank you so much to the fans and country radio for making our first song from Pain Killer such a success. No. 1…what more could we ask for? We are absolutely thrilled.”
Little Big Town’s follow-up single, “Girl Crush”, impacts country radio Dec. 15. Rolling Stone calls their latest a “stop-you-in-your-tracks ballad. ‘Girl Crush’ takes the modern phrase and turns it upside-down to convey the classic country-song theme of unrequited love.” The New York Times takes note saying, “Little Big Town delivers one of the most devastating country songs in recent memory, a scorching and pained meditation on jealousy delivered with heavy resignation. While the Miami Herald states, “Karen Fairchild is a revelation on ‘Girl Crush.’”
Little Big Town has sold out multiple dates headlining The Pain Killer Tour with Brett Eldredge and Brothers Osborne. Only six dates remain on The Pain Killer Tour including stops in Chicago, Detroit and Green Bay. For more information, tour dates and music, visit www.LittleBigTown.com.
