“HANGOVER TONIGHT” WILL BE AVAILABLE ON ITUNES TOMORROW
Nashville, TN — March 2, 2015 — This morning, Gary Allan’s new single “Hangover Tonight” is impacting radio stations across the nation. The clever and catchy tune is perfectly suited to Allan’s smoldering vocals and sexy swagger, which is enhanced when Chris Stapelton’s raw and powerful background vocals are added into the mix.
The song was co-produced by Allan and Greg Droman and co-written by Allan, Chris Stapleton, Jesse Frasure and Cary Barlowe. “Hangover Tonight” is the lead single from Allan’s forthcoming album due on MCA Nashville later this year. It will be the follow-up to Allan’s critically acclaimed, Billboard 200 Chart Topping album, SET YOU FREE.
While recording the song in the studio, Allan knew he had something special. “I’m super excited about this single going to radio. I feel like this is the fourth or fifth time I’ve reinvented myself, or tried to push myself to do different things. I feel like I have pushed myself into a very comfortable place because it is kind of 50’s and 60’s Motown. It reminds me of when I did “Runaway” and things like that. So it was a very easy thing for me to do. I was in rockabilly bands my whole life, and to me it was just a throwback to my youth writing with these guys. It was a lot of fun.”
After playing “Hangover Tonight” for his label team, it was immediately put on the fast track, impacting radio today and scheduled for release on iTunes tomorrow. “I was totally blown away by the new Gary. Sexy and fun, with tempo!” – Johnny Chiang KKBQ Houston
The song is also quickly becoming a fan favorite during Allan’s live shows. Night after night, they respond enthusiastically, dancing and singing along to the chorus. Allan and the MCA Nashville team are excited to share the new song with radio and get the music out to the fans tomorrow.
