ANNE WILSON THRILLS LEXINGTON WITH SOLD-OUT HOMETOWN CONCERT

The Lexington, Ky. native played her faith-infused Country album REBEL from top to bottom

The one-night-only performance is now available to stream on VEEPS

NASHVILLE, Tenn. –  PLATINUM-certified, GRAMMY-nominated artist and songwriter Anne Wilson captivated her sold-out hometown crowd Wednesday night (6/12) at the Lexington Opera House in Lexington, Ky.. Known for her “vocal masterclass” (Holler), the Lexington, Ky. “Country prodigy” (Holler) delivered an unforgettable performance of all 16 tracks from her new album REBEL (4/19), supported by a full band led by Chris Wrate.

Putting her “faith-rooted Country sound” (Billboard) on full display, Wilson, who “hits the bullseye between contemporary Christian and Country twang” (GRAMMY.com), performed her genre-fused project of both Christian and Country tracks. The evening included memorable surprises, such as a duet with 5x GRAMMY-nominated Christian artist and co-writer Matthew West on “3:16” and a touching performance of “My Father’s Daughter,” joined by Wilson’s father, Kent Wilson, with co-producer and writer Jeff Pardo on the keys. The concert held special significance for Wilson, who grew up dancing ballet at the same venue. Fans who missed the live show can catch the performance on VEEPS over the next week, directed by Eddie Superman. Stream it on VEEPS here.

Combining much-needed encouragement, vulnerability and transparency into a perfect balance that footholds the space between the dead-end road paved in dirt and the church pew of redemption on Sunday morning, the Jeff Pardo and Jonathan Smith-produced record emerges as a powerful message of faith. Highlighted on the album is fan-favorite “Songs About Whiskey,” accompanied by an all-new music video, that finds Wilson unashamedly walking the line of her strong faith and Country roots. Collaborations with some of Christian and Country music’s biggest names bolster the record, enlisting reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year Lainey Wilson for “Praying Woman,” GRAMMY-Award winner Chris Tomlin for “The Cross” and Country superstar Jordan Davis for “Country Gold.”

Last month, Wilson took home the coveted Female Artist of the Year award at the K-LOVE Fan Awards, which adds to her recent CMT Music Award nomination for Breakthrough Female Video of the Year for “Rain In The Rearview.” Despite only being three years into her career, Wilson has already amassed an impressive array of accolades, including winning a Billboard Music Award, multiple DOVE and K-LOVE Fan Awards, and nominations for prestigious honors from the GRAMMYs and American Music Awards. Recognized as Apple Music’s Country Riser for April, an artist to watch by Spotify, Pandora, the Grand Ole Opry, CMT and more, and over 900M career streams, Wilson’s trajectory knows no bounds.

As Wilson prepares to take the stage for The REBEL Tour later this year, she will grace the stages of both Country and Christian music’s most sought-after festivals this summer. Stay up to date with Wilson at www.annewilsonofficial.com and keep up with her on InstagramTikTok and YouTube.

ABOUT ANNE WILSON:

One of Nashville’s most inspiring young trailblazers, Anne Wilson is a revolution in modern music. The Lexington, Ky. native, known for her transcendent vocal and down-to-earth storytelling, recently released REBEL, fusing the heart of Contemporary Christian Music with the sound of Country. A bold musical statement with an even bolder message of faith, REBEL features her hopeful, healing debut Country single “Rain In The Rearview” as well as chart-topping Christian radio ballad “Strong.” The genre-bending album follows her GRAMMY-nominated 2022 debut My Jesus, with the title track becoming a PLATINUM-certified No. 1 hit on Billboard‘s Christian Airplay chart. Since then, Wilson has tallied over 900M global streams, made her Grand Ole Opry debut and wrapped her entirely sold-out headlining My Jesus Tour. Already named a Spotify Hot Country Artist to Watch, one of CMT‘s Next Women of Country, and a 2024 Opry NextStage Artist, she has made high-profile appearances on TODAY and ACM Honors, while earning her first-ever CMT Music Awards nomination, as well as a Billboard Music Award. Unapologetically real, Wilson approaches her craft with a purpose and conviction that sets her apart.
