Country Music Icon Makes a Triumphant Return to the Road; More Shows to Come in 2025
A Year Filled with Milestones and Memories
2024 is drawing to a close…and it’s proven to be a banner year for country music icon Alan Jackson.
The Country Music Hall of Famer found himself greeted by standing-room-only and sellout crowds as he returned to touring after a two-year break. The resumption of his “Last Call: One More for the Road” Tour found the superstar as in-demand as ever – people filled arenas to witness history as each performance is his last in a city or region.
Crowds cheered, danced, and sang along to country music staples like “Chattahoochee,” “Don’t Rock the Jukebox,” “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere,” “Remember When” and more in Massachusetts, Michigan, Arkansas, Missouri and Utah. “His setlist delivers,” said the Deseret News of his most-recent Salt Lake City concert, adding, “The songs still stand their ground, and the fans sang along in full force – the cheers spoke volumes.” In Kansas City, The Pitch said, “His charisma filled the arena as he walked onstage” for what they described as “a night to remember” and “an unforgettable evening.” “The crowd barely sat down, even for the ballads” observers reported at his Boston kickoff, and “the excitement in the air was undeniable” an MSN.com reviewer noted after Jackson’s Fayetteville, Arkansas performance.
Jackson is poised to extend his “Last Call: One More for the Road” Tour into 2025 – each of the first five months of the year includes a performance. Select tickets and VIP experiences remain available for much-anticipated final performances by the acclaimed singer-songwriter in Oklahoma City, OK…Fort Worth, TX…Orlando, FL…Tampa, FL…and Milwaukee, WI. Additionally, he’ll headline one day of the hugely popular Two Step Inn festival in Georgetown, TX, just outside of Austin.
Jackson’s return to the concert stage wasn’t the only reason for celebration this year. His career-defining music continued to draw accolades as he marked the 35th anniversary of his first record deal and the release of his very first hits.
–In August, he was singled out by the Academy of Country Music with their Poets Award at the annual ACM Honors in recognition of “outstanding and longstanding musical and/or lyrical contributions…with special consideration given to impact on the culture of country music.” Eric Church saluted Jackson with a performance and presented him with the award.
–In September, Jackson became just the fifth recipient of the Nashville Songwriters Association International’s Kris Kristofferson Lifetime Achievement Award, an honor bestowed for “a lifetime of songwriting achievement” by “an individual whose works have made a significant contribution to the American songbook and who has inspired the careers of others.” Performances by Lee Ann Womack, Josh Turner and Hailey Whitters showcased Jackson’s songwriting talents.
As if all this weren’t enough…Jackson and his wife, Denise, welcomed their second grandchild into the world this summer…and they closed the year by celebrating their 45th wedding anniversary!
