EMI Records Nashville’s Eric Paslay (pass-lay) is celebrating his first No. 1 as an artist and fourth No. 1 as a songwriter with his hit single “Friday Night.” Eric wrote the chart topper with Rose Falcon and Rob Crosby. The single is featured on his self-titled debut album in stores tomorrow, February 4.

“My first No. 1 as a writer and artist is still sinking in,” explains Eric. “I keep thinking that someone is going to wake me up. Thank you Country Radio for letting me dream!”

The Texas native’s three prior No. 1 hits as a songwriter include “Even If It Breaks Your Heart” (Eli Young Band), “Barefoot Blue Jean Night” (Jake Owen) and “Angel Eyes” (Love & Theft). Eric has been nominated for a Grammy, CMA and ACM award for his songwriting on “Even If It Breaks Your Heart.”

“Introducing Eric Paslay,” an in-depth look at Eric’s career path and the making of his debut album, will debut online tomorrow February 4. A sneak peak can be viewed here.

USA Today recently featured Eric in an On The Verge piece and last September ABC’s Nightline correspondent Juju Chang shadowed Eric for a day-in-the -life segment that focused on what it takes for an artist to become the next breakout country star. “Friday Night” was featured last fall in the weekly ESPN College Football Friday Primetime Broadcasts.

Eric’s self-titled album was produced by Marshall Altman and Daniel Hill/Billy Lynn for Cal IV Productions. All 11 tracks on the album where written or co-written by Eric including the inspirational “Less Than Whole” which he wrote with Big Kenny of Big & Rich. Little Big Town, who Eric has toured with, provide vocals on “Country Side of Heaven.”
