Keith Urban notched his 19th No. 1 song this week as “John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16” took the top spot on the Country Aircheck/Mediabase Country Chart. Urban’s first song, and first #1 to come from his forthcoming 2016 album release “John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16” also set an historic country radio mark with the highest one-week spin count and point total in Country Aircheck/Mediabase history.
“When a song is as big as this one (“John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16”), we go ‘wow!’, said Gregg Swedberg of KEEY in Minneapolis. “Keith continues to deliver, to break records….he’s the man!”
“It is an amazing song from an Artist in the truest sense,” said Travis Daily of WFUS in Tampa. “Now 19 and counting for the great Keith Urban!”
“19 No. 1 songs proves Keith continues to produce great songs for all of his fans at country radio – including me,” said Kenny Jay of KMNB in Minneapolis. “’John’ is a really special song – ‘backseat freedom and TV dinner’ – may be one of the best visual lines in a country song in the last five years.”
“John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16” extends Urban’s lead as the artist with the most consecutive top 10 songs, thirty five, on Billboard’s Country Airplay Chart, a streak that started in August 2000. It also took the top spot in Canada last month, where it remained for four consecutive weeks.
