JOSH TURNER EARNS THREE GMA DOVE AWARD NOMINATIONS WITH I SERVE A SAVIOR

Multi-Platinum-selling country star Josh Turner earned his first ever Dove Award nominations following the release of his long-awaited faith-based album, I Serve A Savior. The Gospel Music Association announced today the nominees for this year’s Dove Awards including Turner’s three nods for Southern Gospel Recorded Song of the Year with “How Great Thou Art” featuring Sonya Isaacs, Bluegrass/Country/Roots Recorded Song of the Year with “I Saw The Light” featuring Sonya Isaacs, and Bluegrass/Country/Roots Album of the Year for I Serve A Savior.

 

“This is a project that I have wanted to record for a long time,” shares Turner. “To be recognized in these categories is sincerely such an honor. I’m a big fan of Sonya Isaacs and thankful she shared her beautiful voice on these songs.”

 

I Serve A Savior debuted at No. 1 on Nielsen’s Top Current Country Albums Chart and No. 2 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums Chart and Billboard’s Top Christian Albums Chart. The “musically brilliant” (Worship Magazine) album remained Top 10 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums Chart for 17 consecutive weeks and it currently sits Top 10 on the Top Current Country Albums chart and Top 5 on the Top Current Contemporary Christian Albums chart and, as it has for 38 of the past 41 weeks since its October release.

 

The 50th Annual GMA Dove Awards take place Oct. 15 in Nashville, Tenn. and will be broadcast exclusively on Trinity Broadcasting Network Sunday, Oct. 20 at 8pm ET.
