NASHVILLE, Tenn. – PLATINUM-certified, GRAMMY-nominated artist and songwriter Anne Wilson adds another accolade to her impressive career, becoming a Billboard Music Award finalist for Top Christian Artist. Wilson has previously taken home Billboard Music Awards for Top Christian Song (“My Jesus”) in 2022 and Top Christian Album (My Jesus) in 2023. The 2024 BBMAs presented by Marriott Bonvoy air on Thursday, December 12 at 8:00 p.m. ET on FOX and Fire TV Channels, streaming after on Paramount+. Performances will also roll out across Billboard.com as well as BBMAs and Billboard social channels.
“I am so thankful to be a finalist again for a 2024 Billboard Music Award!!” exclaimed Wilson. “This year has been such an incredible journey, from opening up for Scotty McCreery on his spring tour, releasing my album REBEL, to headlining my own sold-out tour this fall, and now, this recognition. I’m deeply grateful to Billboard and everyone who has listened to a song, bought a ticket and lifted me up along the way. This recognition means the world to me.”
The news follows the exciting conclusion of The REBEL Tour with special guest Jordan Rowe that sold over 51,500 tickets across 27 cities. The cross-country run sold out in all markets including major venues such as Atlanta’s Coca-Cola Roxy and Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium. A highlight of the tour was Wilson’s partnership with World Vision, where she rallied her Hey Girl Nation community and concert attendees to surpass her initial goal of 2,000 sponsorships, bringing this year’s total to over 3,000. Together, over the past two years, Wilson and her Hey Girl Nation have provided over 4,700 sponsorships, positively impacting more than 23,500 people—a powerful testament to Wilson’s dedication to blending her faith-filled message with meaningful action.
For those that missed Wilson’s powerful stage presence on the road, fans can still re-live her “vocal masterclass” (Holler) in her newly-released REBEL (Live From Lexington) album,a 10-track live record that features standouts from her genre-blending album REBEL, as well as her breakout hit “My Jesus.” Recorded at her album release show, REBEL (Live From Lexington) showcases Wilson’s captivating live performance supported by a full band led by Chris Wrate. One of Nashville’s most inspiring young trailblazers, Anne Wilson is a revolution in modern music. The Lexington, Ky. native, known for her transcendent vocal and down-to-earth storytelling, recently released REBEL, fusing the heart of Contemporary Christian Music with the sound of country. A bold musical statement with an even bolder message of faith, REBEL features her hopeful, healing debut country single “Rain In The Rearview” as well as chart-topping ballad “Strong,” which notched No. 1 at Christian radio. Also from REBEL, “Songs About Whiskey” continues to be heard on country airwaves, while “The Cross (with Chris Tomlin)” simultaneously spins at Christian radio. The genre-bending album follows her GRAMMY-nominated 2022 debut My Jesus, with the title track becoming a PLATINUM-certified No. 1 hit on Billboard‘s Christian Airplay chart. Since then, Wilson has tallied over one billion global streams, made her Grand Ole Opry debut and wrapped her entirely sold-out headlining My Jesus Tour and continues on her 27-stop The REBEL Tour throughout fall 2024. Already named a Spotify Hot Country Artist to Watch, one of CMT’s Next Women of Country, and a 2024 Opry NextStage Artist, she has made high-profile appearances on TODAY and ACM Honors, while earning her first-ever CMT Music Awards nomination, as well as a Billboard Music Award. On October 25, Wilson released REBEL (Live From Lexington), a 10-track live record featuring standouts from her genre-blending album REBEL, as well as her breakout hit “My Jesus.” Unapologetically real, Wilson approaches her craft with a purpose and conviction that sets her apart.
