“When I heard this song for the first time, I instantly wanted to cut it,” says Wayne. “Though I started playing guitar late in my teen years it is something that I love and work at daily. When I first got to college all I had was my guitar and even though it was probably annoying, I always played in the stairwell of my dorm. Now whenever I go anywhere people always ask if I brought my guitar. So, now I am the guy with the guitar.”

I’m a six-string sucker

For a throwback Shenandoah song

Once you get me playin’

I could keep on singin’ all night long

I learned early on that just a couple strums

Could turn a little party to a bigger one

Hand-me-down Gibson, man I swear

Me and this old thing been everywhere

From the beach bonfires to the big ole pike house

A 30-minute slot in a bar downtown

A Silverado poet on a drop tailgate

Tryna make a girl smile and get her lookin’ my way

Back porch pickin’ with some boys I grew up with

Felt like a dream that I probably oughta run with

At the end of the day, we are what we are

And I’ve always been a guy with a guitar
